Der Song „Thrilled“ ist mal wieder etwas Schnelles mit stampfenden Beats. Der Song entstand aus einer alten aber kurzen musikalischen Notiz von mir, vermutlich aus der zweiten Hälfte der 1990er Jahre. Stilistisch würde ich es vorsichtig dem Happy-Rave zuordnen wollen, aber so ganz präzise lässt es sich vermutlich nicht sagen. Zumal es ein ungewöhnliches Element in dem Song gibt, den man so vermutlich nicht erwarten würde. Aber, in den 90ern hat man auch viel experimentiert, warum also nicht heute dieser Tradition treu bleiben?
Wer beim Anhören davon ausgeht, dass dieser Song rein synthetisch, also mit Synthesizern entstanden ist, der irrt hier. Zwar habe ich durchaus Synthesizer im Vordergrund verwendet, die Hauptrolle sozusagen, doch ist dieser im Gesamtbild tatsächlich in der Unterzahl. Die Basslinie wird hier von sehr ungewöhnlichen „Instrumenten“ getragen. Die Klänge stammen von einem gesampelten Nebelhorn eines alten Leuchtturmes, ja tatsächlich! So ein Horn macht üblicherweise keine Musik, aber in dieser Form eignet es sich sehr gut für die schönen tiefen Frequenzen eines Songs. Und dann ist da ja noch – ich verrate es – ein Chor mit eingebunden. Dieser bringt quasi einen ganz unerwarteten Twist in die Komposition. Das mag hier nicht jedem gefallen, aber… so ist es doch irgendwie immer, oder?
Im gesamten Song spielen neben den bereits genannten Instrumenten und „Instrumenten“ auch noch ein Klavier, eine Flöte und natürlich das Schlagzeug mit. Die rhythmischen Elemente sind hier eine bunte Mischung aus gesampelten und synthetischen Drums. Dazu ein bisschen „Salz und Pfeffer“, das war es auch schon.
Da bleibt mir wie immer nur zu hoffen, dass auch dieser Song den Weg in das passende Ohr findet. Und ebenso wie üblich, vielen Dank fürs anhören und viel Freude dabei!

The song "Thrilled" is again something fast with pounding beats. The song originated from an old but short musical note of mine, probably from the second half of the 1990s. Stylistically I would like to cautiously assign it to the „happy rave“ Genre, but it probably can't be said that precisely. Especially since there is an unusual element in the song that you probably wouldn't expect. But, in the 90s there was also a lot of experimentation, so why not stay true to this tradition today?
Anyone who assumes that this song was created purely synthetically, i.e. with synthesizers, is wrong here. I did use synthesizers in the foreground, the main role so to speak, but in the overall picture they are actually outnumbered. The bass line is carried here by very unusual "instruments". The sounds come from a sampled foghorn from an old lighthouse, yes! Such a horn does not usually make music, but in this form it is very well suited for the beautiful low frequencies of a song. And then there is - I'll tell you - a choir involved. This brings a completely unexpected twist to the composition. It may not please everyone here, but... it's always like that, isn't it?
In addition to the instruments and “instruments” already mentioned, a piano, a flute and of course the drums play along throughout the song. The rhythmic elements here are a colorful mixture of sampled and synthetic drums. Add a bit of salt and pepper and that's about it.
